THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH
INDIE WEEK PRESENTS: VENUExVENUE – London Local Series Pt1
On Thursday Sept 15, 2022 at RUM RUNNERS, Indie Week presents the “London Local Series”. This free show (all ages & licensed) is the first of a three part series promoting a new multi-venue music festival called VENUExVENUE coming in November 2023. Performing on the night are Softcult, Basic White, Bella Rosa, The Pairs, and Jordan Macdonald (Texas King).
“We see London as a great opportunity to rise in the music scene becoming a thriving hub of activity. All of the ingredients are here including the recent UNESCO City of Music delegation to London hosting major music events, and we want to be a part of it. There is a lot in the works and will have more announcements in the future regarding the “London Local Series” and VENUExVENUE.” – Darryl Hurs (founder of INDIE WEEK)
The pandemic has torn through the live music industry and is still causing disruption, but through adverse times, new ideas are born. As a result London, Ontario is getting a new music series promoting the launch of the new music festival coming to London in 2023.
“Attracting and working with partners that create opportunities for London’s music community is an important aspect of London’s UNESCO City of Music designation plan. We are excited to welcome VENUExVENUE to London and look forward to working with their team.” – Cory Crossman (Music Industry Development Officer & UNESCO City of Music Focal Point)
Indie Week, a live music conference and festival in Toronto for nearly 20 years, would annually showcase close to 300 artists from around the world at venues across the city. When COVID hit and impacted the live music scene, Indie Week pivoted to become the industry leader in the digital space, presenting online music conferences and special events including four annual music and tech conferences, a weekly industry discussion series, podcasts and mentorships sessions. Indie Week has helped educate artists and businesses while providing the means to make meaningful connections leading to new business and career opportunities.
The three-part “London Local Series” kicks off Thursday September 15 at RUM RUNNERS.
In partnership with Indie Week, Venue X Venue, London Music Office, Ontario Creates, Tourism London, London Music Hall, and SummerCamp Productions
