Determination, a taste for hard work, a love for being on the road, countless self booked tours and undeniable talent have all earned the band a solid following which continues to grow steadily. Emphasizing in every interview how much they appreciate their fans, MIW want to get their point across that saying their thank yous is something not to be taken lightly. “To be honest, we’ve wanted this,” says singer Chris Cerulli during an interview with Weekender. “We’re not a band that just practices once a week and says ‘I hope something happens.’ We work every day to make this happen, so having it happen isn’t even overwhelming in the slightest.” Fearless Records

Every Time I Die

While there’s no exact science to the resulting madness that is ETID’s signature blend of turned-to-eleven hardcore mixed with southern-fried metal, over the last decade the band has consistently produced fan-favorite releases from albums Big Dirty to Hot Damn!, with New Junk Aesthetic as icing on the proverbial metallic cake.

“New Junk Aesthetic is not the next logical step in the progression of Every Time I Die,” explains front-man Keith Buckley. “It is an evolutionary leap. It’s as if we have morphed from a single-celled bacteria straight to the guy with the dirt bike that will let you watch his older sister suntan if you steal him a smoke from your parents. Certainly you may acknowledge similarities, but on a grand scale, they stand light years apart.”

Maniacal, convulsive and completely unpredictable are but a few words that come to mind when listening to New Junk Aesthetic. With Big Dirty producer Steve Evetts at the helm again, ETID set out to corrupt souls and bring fans to their knees with an orchestrated chaos of their heaviest most skillful album.

Chelsea Grin

All of the members were born and raised in Salt Lake City, and they’re already hitting it off with the heavy metal heads of Utah. Chelsea Grin started almost a year ago, (formerly known as “ahaziah”) and they’ve already released their own five song length EP. The guitarist and vocalist of the band, Chris and Alex first started the band with just a simple dream. To make a ton of fans and have as much fun as they possibly can while performing their music. Then found their bassist, Austin, the other lead guitarist, Michael, and drummer Andrew.

The songs featuring on the EP are “Crewcabanger,” “Anathema of the Sick,” “Disgrace,” “Cheyne Stokes,” and “Lifeless.” With a screaming vocalist and two guitars sweeping in sync, it’s not too surprising they’ve gotten big in Utah. If you enjoy head-banging music and heavy beats from the drums, you should definitely check out this band.
The group of five boys have already toured California, Idaho, New Mexico, and the remaining states neighboring Utah. With just a small van and a low budget, Chelsea Grin was able to pull off their long road-trips successfully. Though sleeping in Wal-Mart parking lots isn’t necessarily ‘successful’ they still did what they had to do in order to spread their music to the other states around us. Most of their shows have been played in Ogden, Provo, or Salt Lake City. Since the band is a local Utah band, they’re more than willing to deliver their merchandise to your house if you live nearby. Along with their still-selling EP, they have many shirts and hoodies that are up and selling right now. So hurry up and buy one!

Ice Nine Kills

Boston Rock/Metal act, Ice Nine Kills, burst onto the scene in late 2007 with the release of the experimental and lyrically tongue in cheek EP, The Burning. The band, who takes it’s name from the classic piece of American literature, Cat’s Cradle, by renowned satire novelist, Kurt Vonnegut, has always strived to blur the lines between melody and unbridled aggression. After a successful stint on 2009’s Vans Warped Tour, INK headed into the studio to record Safe Is Just A Shadow, the follow up to The Burning EP. Safe is Just a Shadow was released in July of 2010, to coincide with another run on The Vans Warped Tour. After the massive success of a Kickstarter campaign in which the band raised over $22,000, The Predator EP was released in early 2013 to much praise from old and new fans alike. This undeniable heat the band had created landed them on both the 2012 and 2013 additions of The All-Stars tour opening for metal heavyweights like Suicide Silence and Every Time I Die; as well as another stint on the The Vans Warped Tour 2013.

The success of The Predator EP, fused with an impressive touring résumé, provided INK with their biggest break yet; being the first band signed to Fearless Records’ brand new imprint label, Outerloop Records. Building on the success of the last year, the band released their highly anticipated new album, The Predator Becomes the Prey, which debuted at #3 on the billboards heatseeker’s chart and #13 on the billboard hard rock charts. The band followed up the release with a nationwide tour alongside metalcore scene stars Attila. For the Summer of 2014 INK was invited to perform on the entirety of the Vans Warped Tour on the highly coveted Monster Energy Stage. The founder of Warped, Kevin Lyman, was so impressed with the band that he bumped them up to the Main Stage for an entire week of the tour- having them play alongside some of today’s biggest names in punk and metal music.
